Seeing as my life went from hanging out with psychotic people, who I actually really like, to hanging out with kids with seizure disorders that are otherwise completely healthy... Iapos;m pretty bored. The last three weeks have included about 100 long term monitoring EEGs and 2 episodes of status migranosis. Thank god for clinic, at least I got some adult-onset exposure in the form of ALS and MS. But still, big whoopdie flippinapos; do. Iapos;ll chalk this up to my lack of luckiness when it comes to rotation placement.

Anyway, that was all prelude to an apos;ah-haapos; moment I had last week, where I was reminded how cool this experience really is, and how lucky I am to be able to catch a glimpse into the personal lives of these complete strangers. So we had a kid with Angelman syndrome. Itapos;s one of those genetic disorders they feel the need to teach and test you on again and again without hinting toward any real clinical significance. I could rattle off in my sleep: genetic imprinting, maternally inherited, chromosome 15, Prader-Willi, happy puppet... Etc etc etc without really stepping back and thinking about what it really was. I knew nothing about this kidapos;s history, and I could figure out half of his story immediately upon entering the room just by looking at him. It was crazy. I canapos;t explain it. The feeling, to me, was comparable to how youapos;d feel after reading the whole Harry Potter series 10 times, knowing the story inside-out, and then actually getting to enroll at Hogwarts.

Lame, but thatapos;s the best I can do. I think that kid has earned a permanent spot in my memory, along with the stabbing trauma that came in in August and the woman with neurofibromatosis 1.

Anyway, being at Childrenapos;s this month has been interesting. Iapos;ve never really been exposed to children in any context, so itapos;s been a big eye-opener in the sense that I actually kind of like kids. Who knew? Hate their parents, but thatapos;s a different story. The surprise on my residentsapos; faces when I told them Iapos;d never seen babies outside of the supermarket, and never really held one until... Uh, today, was pretty entertaining. Baby physical exam is fun. You get to pick them up and make them fly under the guise of looking at muscle tone ;-) Their toys are fun too... Might get brownie points for my ability to make apos;Mars Gooapos; fart. The downside is one of the little bastards got me more sick than Iapos;ve been in years. I had to miss 3 days (oh, bad bad bad), get an IV, the whole 9 yards. It was sad because I was completely out of commission and shaking and unable to hold down any food... And there was nobody in Ohio to take care of me. I had to lie to the doctor when she told me to have somebody stay with me... Because everybody I know here is a medical student, which unfortunately isnapos;t exactly conducive to taking time off to babysit your sick adult friend-- because you have to spend 80 hours a week taking care of sick strangers.

Boo hoo.

1 more week until I get my first week off since June :-) Iapos;m going to head up to Mich for the weekend so I can go to the live Rocky Horror showing again with Steph (excited to get back to the tradition), then head out of town for the rest of the week. Woohoo party down

I just hit 360, the max limit is 365 since by that time everything goes gray. Itapos;s pretty nice. The only minor glyph I have so far is the one that makes a warriorapos;s bloodlust cost less health. I should get another tomorrow.

Thanks to all my guildies who made it happen. We had been stockpiling herbs for the last month. I know itapos;s not super long. I had to buy some but the overstock on the early ones paid for most of it. I wound up only being down about 200 gold after buying all the recipes and vendor mats and now all the guildmates have plenty to choose from to inscribe.

Hereapos;s hoping that more and more minor inscriptions pop out of the woodwork soon.

Dear john...

autism and downsapos; syndrome are two different things. Sadly, they are both burdens for a child to bear. But i donapos;t think sarah palin knows more about autism than anyone else you know. In fact, iapos;m sure my puppy jax could probably tell you more about both autism and downsapos; syndrome than sarah palin does.

just because you have a special needs child, doesnapos;t mean you know everything about special needs.

thanks john.

by the way... Joe the plumber called. He said heapos;s not the new "maverick".

Here is my opinion of the emergency room: itapos;s bad.

I think it is a bad place to be and i go there all too much because i am in love with someone who is in love with hurting herself so the emergency room is like our second home.

This time the key is hidden under the bathroom counter. Where the lip of the counter rises above the floor? I have taped it. You only notice if youre lying flat down on the bathroom rug, relaxing, or if youre running your hand along the rim. So this round should take at least a few months.

One of these days, ill just do my duty and make a huge scene and dump all the pills down the toilet like im suposed to and she will cry and cry and then find herself a new girlfriend.

until then its our best time together.

So guys I just had the best idea ever, and I think you really need to pay attention to this. I think we should make some t-shirts. And on these t-shirts, just the front, it should look like the front of Phoenixapos;s suit. Or maybe Edgeworthapos;s. Or Miaapos;s. Or ANYONEapos;S GUYS, these shirts have ENDLESS possibilities and they are ALL AWESOME. I said it So if you see these shirts already in existence, give me a heads up, yo and if you see them anywhere else you let those guys know that they stole those shirts from me.

I was doing an objection emote LONG before /objection. I am just going to throw that out there.

Also, my devilsaur stomps around and that is too cute.

I did not sleep last night because everytime I would try I would think about these things. I have a problem, please send pills. I have a test in about 30 minutes, and I think Iapos;ve stared at it enough for anybody, so hereapos;s hoping for success. Then I have to spend the rest of the afternoon writing things and then spend time after that not sleeping but writing more stuff, and then at a movie thing for class, and then MAYBE Iapos;LL SLEEP? No, Iapos;ll stomp. I know exactly what Iapos;m going to do. Dinosaurs. Man. >:

Your name: Charlie

Age-ish: 27

Occupation: Faculty Administrator

How tall are you? Six foot 2

What are your favorite places to buy clothes? The only place Iapos;ve found where stuff really fits me is Long Tall Sally, but I donapos;t like a lot of their clothes (I find them aimed at an older demographic than myself) and theyapos;re really overpriced.

Whatapos;s the most fabulous thing about being tall? I donapos;t really have any Iapos;m afraid, by and large I donapos;t like being tall.
